Advertising my Jewelry

So I am working on trying to spread the word on Links and Loops. I have signed up for one week of advertising through Atrist of Etsy to see how it goes. Here is the link to the page that I am on: I am putting a litle focus on the Halloween earrings I have in my shop at this time. Would love to hear your feed back.

Sterling Silver Flower Ring

Ok so I am hooked on these little flowers I have been making. I started out last week making them after making some earrings for my grandmother’s birthday. Takes about 2.5 inches of wire to make each flower and piece together pretty quick.

Hmmm just had a thought maybe I should do a tutorial on them..... That is something to ponder this weekend.

Anyway I had the day off last Friday from my regular job with the education dept. Since the youth center I volunteer at was closed it gave me the full day to work in my studio. I made some double hoop earrings and then started making the flowers again. I made a complete bracelet and had one left over. I thought for a moment on whether or not to make another one and turn them into earrings. Then I remembered that I had made a simple sterling double wire ring about a month earlier. I made it with the intent on putting something on the top but wasn't sure what. But when I sat the flower on it I knew I had to add it. It is so dainty and so cute I just might have to make more might even work as a toe ring. Think I will have to play with that idea as well.

I wonder what other ideas are out there that these flowers would work in……

Work bench results for Friday

Well Friday was a productive day for me. I made some more flowers that matche the set I posted a few days ago. But this time I kept them shiny instead of darkening the silver. I am working on just making them into a solid silver bracelet joining them with Jump rings. I really like the look so far but I need to make another 6 flowers today to finish it off. I will post pictures once it is done.

I heard that my grandmother got her earrings yesterday which were a gift from my dad and I. From what my cousin said she really liked them and even wore a pair when they took her out to dinner last night. I am so happy!

Here is a fun necklace I made using 18gauge sterling wire. It is my variation of a snitch from the Harry Potter movie. I know in the movie it is gold but 1. I don't have any gold filled wire that size and 2. Gold prices are out of control LOL.

I also made these Hoop earrings and I have to say I impressed myself with the results. I think I really getting the hang of using this torch.

Well I think that is all for now I am heading out to the studio to see if I can finish that bracelet. First I will put these up on Etsy. I need to go to Wal-Mart at some point today to pick up a new belt for my tumbler. I think the kids are getting tired of me handing them the barrel and saying shake this while you watch TV LOL.

Just playing

Was sitting in the studio last night while dinner was cooking. Grabbed some wire and just played. With Harry Potter being the be thing right now I had to make a lightening bolt LOL. This is what I came up with.

Grandma's Birthday

This is what I shipped to my Grandmother yesterday for her Birthday. Since I didn't have the stones I wanted to use with the heart and flowers I had made I stuck with just earrings which was her request. I did make one set of earrings using the silver flowers I had made. I really like how the flowers look and they are light wieght. I think I will have to make more of these. I kept the earrings to one inch or shorter in length. These are the first things I have made for her so I hope that she will like them.

Weekend works of art

My grandmothers birthday will be this Friday and she will be 93 years young and still looks amazing. My dad calls to let me know she really needs earrings. After making a few pair for her in silver and in gold, simple ones that she could wear anytime with anything. I thought I would play with my torch for a bit and see what transpires.

I started of with a long piece of 18 gauge wire about 3 feet long or so cut off about 6 inches or so and formed a heart. With the excess I melted into two silver balls and added for extra detail along with a jump ring at the top and one at the bottom. I really liked how the bottom looked and started to go with it. So I grabbed a mandrel and coiled up most of the silver wire and then cut it into rings. I took what was left and cut into ten one inch pieces and then torched them into balls. I soldered 4 rings together and added the ball to the center. I took a picture with my cell phone this morning sorry about the quality I promise to take a better picture when I get home with my camera.

I would love to hear your comments on this and maybe what colors you could see going with it as I plan to add some crystals, pearls or semi precious stones between the little flowers. I plan on putting four of the flowers up each side of the heart the two that is pictured in the center I will be using in earrings.
